Welcome to the JFM Foundation website.  This website serves in place of an annual report and is updated at least annually.  We hope it is useful and easy to use.

Frederick Mayer, co-founder of the JFM Foundation,  passed away on February 14, 2007.  He was the foundation’s model of a proactive, personally engaged philanthropist. It wasn’t enough for Fred to simply write a check to a deserving organization.  He wanted to take a personal role in working with the staff and board to make that organization more productive and responsive to the community’s needs. 

He inspired the JFM trustees and staff to be better at accomplishing the JFM mission and in our individual philanthropy.  As a result, we remain dedicated and focused on continuing his commitments with the same style and energy that Frederick demonstrated during his life.  We do so, however, with the realization that we will all greatly miss his sharp mind and the inspirational twinkle in his eyes.  We believe that Frederick’s impact will be felt for years to come by those who knew him, as well as those beneficiaries of his generosity.
